The career that will be addressed in this post is furniture design. A furniture designer is given the responsibility of conceptualizing and sketching potential pieces of furniture, as well as selecting the required materials for construction. To become a furniture designer, there is a general required background in 3d modeling, as well as furniture design, industrial design, or the fine arts.

Some college majors or programs that would help with this path would be woodworking, architecture, or even interior design. Schools that have specific furniture design programs are Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), California College of the Arts (CCA), as well as Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT).
