In this session of figure drawing with Tommy, we started by focusing on gesture and timed sketches of the models that visited. This time, it took a bit to get back into it, but after practicing with short, timed sketches as well as going through some of Tommy's lessons again, I was ready for the final day. On the final day featuring Tommy, we had to create a portrait utilizing any of the techniques learned throughout the week, and I chose to utilize subtraction. While the final product did not turn out as well as I had hoped (the drawing on the far left), I became more effective at utilizing subtraction in my process of sketching figures. To improve upon this in any future drawings, I will utilize negative space more effectively to help establish better proportions in the face.
