Ben Aronson is an expressive painter combining realism with impressionism resulting in very interesting pieces, especially seen in his cityscapes. Having an educational background in painting from Boston University, Aronson has gone to receive numerous awards such as the Hassam Purchase Prize as well as being elected as a full Academician of the National Academy of Design in New York. This is a a lifetime honor given to artists showing excellence and impact to the American art world. His work is also being held in various museums, such as the museum of fine arts in Boston, Eli and Edythe Broad Museum in Michigan, as well as being featured in the VMFA previously.

This is one of my favorite pieces by him. With the recent inspiration to paint with the influence of impressionism, this has given some inspiration in what I'd like to achieve in my works. The color palette used in combination with the composition creates an effect that I would like to achieve in my future works.

Similarly to the previous piece, I love how the composition and color pallet works so well together. Although in this piece I appreciate the featuring of more nature and greenery throughout, instead of a total modern cityscape.

In this piece I love how the lighting is used to frame the figures in the composition. he uses lighting so efficiently and beautifully in contrast with the cooler shadows, that I want to recreate that in my works if possible.

This was so inspirational, you really made me realize how art doesn't just have one meaning but millions. Thank you Benjamin Hoffler.
