Unfortunately I was not able to get any pictures of day 1 for this project, but during that day I applied a light blue background that is still visible. On day 2 I applied some strokes using a gradient made from my palette, creating this flame-like appearance that is very organic. My original reference for this piece came from a method of zooming in a lot, similar to some pieces Georgia O'Keeffe have made with animal bones. Except with my piece, I used a picture I took of a flower and zoomed in towards the center, where it begins to bud.

This day I did not change my foundation too much, and still kept the original shape. The major change I made was a thicker application of color, as well as some highlights allowing for more of my piece to really pop. At this point I am unsure how to incorporate the blue background with the contrasting warm colors, but that is eventually resolved on the 4th and final day we worked on this project.

On the final day of this project, I really solidified the strokes after confrontation with my teacher. In this process I was really able to remove some of the blue, while still keeping some of it so it still has that uniqueness it originally held. I also added some more highlights with yellow, as well added more of a purple/red which helped layers and depth to the overall painting.
